| Give Me Ten is MOAA's program to encourage chapters to recruit national MOAA members. MOAA offers incentives for chapters to recruit at least ten new "free" and/or "paid" MOAA members. Give Me Ten (GMT) pays per-capita rebates to chapters for recruiting new MOAA members (active-duty, Guard, Reserve, retired or former officers and surviving spouses) and for reinstatement of certain "lapsed" MOAA members. Current MOAA members may become life members via Give Me Ten, which also counts as a "paid" membership. (MOAA & VCOC suggest chapters also offer a free year of chapter membership along with GMT.)
Active duty, guard and reserve officers join for "free" with Give Me Ten. Former Officers, Retired Officers and surviving spouses of officers may join via "paid" Give Me Ten - at two years for $30 (a savings of up to $38).
Virginia is the only state council of MOAA to earn Dinner-On-MOAA each year, 2006 - 2009. No council earned it for 2010 recruiting. New in In 2010 & 2011, the dinner must be earned via paid memberships (though there is still a monitary stipend to chapters for free GMTs).

| NOTE: CHAPTER MEMBERS SAVE 10% WHEN BECOMING LIFE MEMBERS OF NATIONAL MOAA VIA GIVE ME TEN.
Encourage your chapter members to sign up for MOAA life membership, via phone. They must know the name of their chapter and tell the member services center that they are a chapter member. It is also advisable that chapter members let the chapter Give Me Ten person know of the call, so the chapter can ensure they receive Give Me Ten credit.

| 2011 - GIVE ME TEN, VIRGINIA! |
INCENTIVES FOR RECRUITERS & RECRUITS: For each new member recruited, chapter recruits earn an "entry" in a random drawing for an end-of-contest sweepstakes. The recruiter identified on the winning sweepstakes entry receives a $1,000 prize. The new member associated with the winning entry receives a MOAA national Life Membership and $500.
CHAPTER INCENTIVES: $10 for each new free GMT membership recruited by the chapter. $100 bonus for the first 10 free GMT memberships. $20 for each paid GMT membership recruited by the chapter.
$20 for each paid reinstatement of a "lapsed" MOAA membership.
$20 for each paid life GMT membership (new OR converted from annual membership) recruited by the chapter. $100 bonus for every ten new paid GMT members recruited. $1,000 prize for chapters that recruit the most new paid GMT members (awarded in ten categories based on chapter size - based on a minimum of 10 "paid" transactions).
Chapter president participates in a Night Out on MOAA, if the chapter recruits at least 5 new valid paid GMT members AND at least 14 of Virginia's 18 chapters also meet the threshold.
IMPORTANT: No rebate credits for Give-Me-10 can be earned unless the chapter submits the proper Give-Me-10 forms to MOAA. Chapters should also keep copies of all submissions to help in reconciling Give-Me-10 entitlements when necessary.
INCENTIVES FOR VCOC: $500 is awarded quarterly to the top recruiting council in each of four regions based on paid GMT memberships (minimum of ten paid members). A council cannot win in two consecutive quarters. A "Night out with MOAA" for council and chapter leaders if 14 Virginia chapters recruited five or more new paid GMT members.

TIPS FOR RUNNING A SUCCESSFUL GIVE ME TEN PROGRAM:
Obtain application information for all “Gold Bar” and Warrant Officer accessions prior to commissioning ceremonies or receptions. Don’t simply hand out blank applications to commissionees and expect the forms to be returned to MOAA.
Make sure “chapter code” and name of “recruiting member” are shown on each application submitted.
Make sure to obtain a check payable to MOAA for all “paid” applications. It is difficult to obtain the check “after-the-fact.”
If consistent with your chapter’s procedures, have all completed GMT forms returned to the chapter vice MOAA Headquarters for review and editing. Applicants don’t always write well or include all required info.
Keep a copy of the completed application forms, or create a spreadsheet or list of all application forms submitted to MOAA for periodic reconciliation. You don’t always get credit for all the forms you submit - you might need the documentation to follow-up.
