STATE LEGISLATIVE ALERTS

The Virginia Council of Chapters (VCOC) uses VAVET, an automatic message transmission program created in 2009, to transmit emails to members of the Virginia General Assembly on issues of importance to VCOC MOAA and the Virginia Joint Leadership Council of Veterans Service Organizations (JLC).  The VAVET website/program is activated as necessary during the annual sessions of the General Assembly, by the VCOC Legislative Committee.  Activation is announced to VCOC affiliate chapters via email.

2012 START OF SESSION LETTER is available as of 19 JAN 2012

VAVET provides letters, with a Senator version and a Delegate version, which address the VCOC/JLC Legislative Objectives (LOs) for the 2012 Session.  It informs our Legislators that we want them to understand our objectives, to be co-patrons, and to vote for them.
Chapter Members can directly influence the passage of Legislative Objectives (LOs) by personally meeting with their legislators, by writing to them, by calling their General Assembly Offices in Richmond, and, easiest of all, by sending messages using VAVET.

WHEN VAVET IS ACTIVATED:
Go on line to
vavet.org then left click on either the House or the Senate.   Select your legislator from the drop down menu, then scroll down to the bottom of the page and fill in the personal information.  Next left click on "Send my Message!".  Then send a message to your other legislator.  Every chapter member, their family members and their friends may send these notices to their local legislators to make a difference as one powerful voice.
